Spirituality is a celebration - a continuous celebration; a celebrations without vasanas

~ Seva And The Art Of Enthusiasm ~

                  🌱 Day - 163 🌱

💐☘🌾☘🍀🍁🍀☘🌾☘💐

स्फूर्तिमात्रो । Just be enthusiastic! Like small children, you should become the embodiment of bubbling enthusiasm when you do something without a vasana, a latent impression of 'I' or 'mine'. Have you seen how enthusiastic small children are? Their enthusiasm comes out of every cell of their body. They jump and bounce on their feet. Do you remember being children? You hold them and they don't stand still. They bump and jump around, laughing all the time. They laugh looking at nothing! They don't need to look at something amusing to laugh! They don't need your silly jokes to laugh! They don't need to read cartoons to laugh! Just being is sufficient for them to be filled with enthusiasm. They don't need you to appreciate, praise or bring them something in order to laugh.

That is स्फूर्तिमात्रो । You are the source of enthusiasm. You become enthusiasm yourself. Only then you can pull others out of their apathy and induce enthusiasm in them. You have an enthusiasm to sing. So you sing, but after two months, you are bored and want to do something different. You are bored with singing the same bhajans. You want to play rock-and-roll music. It's natural, because you are linking your enthusiasm to 'I'. The 'I' behind it is always there. 'I want to get something. What will I get? What will I get?' What will you get? What do you have to get? Where will you be? You are nothing! How long can you go on jumping up and down like this? Are you going to continue like this until the end, until the final day when you kick the bucket without knowing it? When you hear about spiritual discipline - being spiritual or knowing the Self - you feel it is something unenthusiastic; that it may be a dull - a boring state of some awareness, without any newness or joy. And you don't want it. It is not so. You are the source of undying and ever-new enthusiasm and ever-new spirit. That's why we use the term 'in high spirits'. Spirit and spirituality are very close. They are derived from the same word. But the so-called spirituality has made people very , dumb, sleepy and boring. Their whole life is morose. But, spirituality is a celebration - a continuous celebration; a celebrations without vasanas. It's not the same as celebrating a birthday with a party. That is superficial celebration. What do they talk about at these parties? They show off. They are out to prove that they are somebody; that they are better than the others. All the people with inferiority complex get together and shoe off each other's inferiorities. This is what happens at most parties. Everyone wants to prove to themselves that they are somebody worthwhile.
