Meditation and Sudarshan Kriya To gain victory over our 10 senses

· ,

To gain victory over our 10 senses (here referring to the 10 sense organs of action and expression - mouth, hands, feet, excretory and genital organs and the 5 sense organs of cognition - eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin)

Senses act as a bridge. They tell you about the world and tell the world about you. One side is the object and the other side is the Self. Firstly, keep yourself busy. If you keep yourself idle then your senses will overpower you. Keep yourself busy, that is important. Have a big goal in life, then you will not have this problem. Secondly, you must have patience and be careful about what you eat and drink.
Remember that tiredness is when our senses go outward, the moment the senses start turning inward, we are tapping into the eternal source of energy. You can compare the joy of the senses to a candle, the joy of intellect to a torchlight, and the joy of self to sunlight. Learn to turn the senses inward. Either getting fed up of the world OR with contentment in life, the mind turns inward. Overuse of any of our senses, touch, smell, taste, hear and sight makes you lose your focus. Drop all the five senses for some time and then you will notice that the mind gets really centered and your intellect becomes laser sharp. The sensory enjoyments are a natural phenomenon. It drains you because it takes your mind outside. When the senses turn inward, there is another type of enjoyment (of deep rest). That is the 'ananda' (enjoyment) of soul. It can be experienced through Spiritual practices like Meditation and Sudarshan Kriya.

Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah — The Universal Prayer for Peace & Health

Sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ, sarve santu nirāmayāḥ, sarve bhadrāṇi paśyantu, mā kaścid duḥkhabhāg bhavet. Om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ.

May all beings be happy,

may all be free from illness,

may all see what is auspicious,

may no one suffer in any way.

Om peace, peace, peace.

सभी सुखी होवें,

सभी रोगमुक्त रहें,

सभी मंगलमय घटनाओं के साक्षी बनें

और किसी को भी दुःख का भागी न बनना पड़े।

ॐ शांति शांति शांति॥
