That is what innocence is. It means seeing a mistake as a mistake that happened. This is really being hollow and empty.

A person was very nervous to drive me on a snowy day in the USA. It was that person's turn to take me to the lecture hall. I sat in the car, and that person became so nervous and kept repeating that it was snowing; that he should be very responsible and make sure I reached the hall. He repeated again and again that it was snowing and he should not skid. And that is exactly what happened. The car skidded and went off the road. However, nothing serious happened. There was another car following and they stopped. The person driving the car skidded because the mind constantly on it. But, that was good. Once the car skidded, the person became confident. He was able to say, 'So what? It doesn't matter. Nothing happened.' His faith became stronger. The same person drove me further in the same car. But I said what difference did it make whether I sit or someone else sits in that car. It was better I went in the same car. Then, the person who was driving it would feel better.

Therefore, consider a mistake as just a mistake and not as 'my' mistake. Otherwise, you will always sit and brood over it. You will become depressed. It will take you nowhere, and only make you worse. That is what innocence is. It means seeing a mistake as a mistake that happened. This is really being hollow and empty.

Someone asked me it is always nice to say everybody has good qualities, and one should see them all as yourself, but some people may not feel that way. They may feel bad and put down, jealous and hurt. In that case, you should see them as a part of yourself. If, for example, someone cooks some nice food. What do you do? You will eat it, enjoy it and praise it. You will take second and third helpings. You will not say that person cooked well while you cannot cook like that. If you go on like that, you can't keep up with this world. You may see a scientist, and feel that he is a good scientist but you are not. Or that person is such a good artist and you are not. And another person sings so beautifully but you cannot. Where will you go with this? You enjoy food and clothes. But, you cannot make everything yourself. Can you make your own garments and be a good cook, and be this and that and that and this?
