Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Ayurveda

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a painful condition caused by compression of the nerve in the wrist, leading to burning sensations, numbness, weakness, and wrist pain. Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to manage CTS through internal medications, external treatments, and lifestyle modifications.

Causes of CTS:

1. Wrist fracture
2. Certain diseases (high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, obesity, thyroid issues, kidney diseases)
3. Hormonal changes (menopause, pregnancy)
4. Overuse of wrist joint (computer work, piano playing)

Signs and Symptoms:

1. Burning sensation, tingling, numbness
2. Muscular weakness
3. Wrist pain

Internal Medications:

1. Rasnasaptakam kashayam
2. Prasaranyadi kashayam
3. Guggulutiktaka kashayam
4. Gandharvahastadi Kashayam
5. Ashwagandha churna

5. Lepa (application of herbal paste)
6. Agnikarma (cauterization)
