Let's embrace this wisdom and strive to become beacons of love and service in our own unique ways

Question - Gurudev, what does one have to do to become a Rishi or a Swami?

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji - One does not need to do anything to become a Rishi or a Swami. Just having this sincere intention to become one is good enough. And along with that, one has to follow the rules and discipline of that lifestyle, that’s it. When one does not want anything for oneself, then such a person becomes a Swami. A Swami works for the welfare and benefit of everyone else. If one is married, then they become a Rishi instead of a Swami.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji's response highlights the essence of becoming a Rishi or Swami. It's not about external actions, but rather the genuine intention and willingness to adopt a selfless lifestyle.

To become a Rishi or Swami, one must:

1. Have a sincere intention to serve others
2. Follow the discipline and rules of that lifestyle
3. Let go of personal desires and attachments
4. Work for the welfare and benefit of all

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji clarifies that a Swami is someone who renounces personal desires and works for the greater good. If someone is married, they can become a Rishi, which is a revered sage or wisdom-keeper.

Sudarshan Kriya, a powerful breathing technique taught by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, can help cultivate the qualities of a Rishi or Swami, such as compassion, wisdom, and selflessness.

Remember, it's the intention and commitment to serving others that matters, not external titles or roles. Let's embrace this wisdom and strive to become beacons of love and service in our own unique ways!
