You should not think that your body is not healthy because then you are putting your attention on the sickness. The more you put your attention on sickness, the more it grows. This is the law of the body. You enliven whatever you put your attention on. If you put attention on any negativity inside you, that negativity grows.

         ~ Acting Spontaneously ~

                  🌱 Day - 141 🌱

There is a story. Once there was a potter who made many pots. He took much time in making them, making each pot artistically and even painting some of them. He put them all in a basket to take to the market. It was quite some distance to the place. Usually the mind does not keep quiet. The potter started daydreaming as he was walking along. He began to make various plans what he would do with the money that he would earn by selling the pots. He imagined that he would become a millionaire. That his friend would respect him a lot. He would give them a lot of money and he would be able to just relax and lean on a chair doing nothing. While dreaming he dropped both his hands and all the pots fell down and were shattered. He did not even reach the marketplace.

No coordination between the means available, the desire and our nature brings misery. And no coordination between all four - fulfilment, desires, means and one's very nature creates problems. What is our nature? Our true nature is to be loving, kind, friendly, compassionate, and generous. Lack of coordination among them creates problems in three things. कुत्रापि खेदः कायस्य । Imperfections arise in the body. It happenes anywhere and everywhere. There's nobody who is always in perfect health; who has never been sick at all. The nature of the body is such that there is some small ailment always. It is an imperfection in the body. One may be very healthy most of the time. A person may feel unwell; maybe, once in a ten years. But another person may feel unwell very often, maybe twice a day! Whether it is twice a day or once in ten years, the body still had to go through some experiences. It is the nature of the body. You should not think that your body is not healthy because then you are putting your attention on the sickness. The more you put your attention on sickness, the more it grows. This is the law of the body. You enliven whatever you put your attention on. If you put attention on any negativity inside you, that negativity grows.

You should know there is disturbance in words, in the mind, and in the body, and one can get hurt here, there and everywhere by so many persons. Knowing this, what will I do?

Ashtavakra says, 'I repose in my Self'. Balancing in this is what is needed in life. You may wish to know if you paid attention to it, would it disappear?

If you paid attention to sickness, and go on thinking about it, it will increase. Observing what is there right 'now' is different from putting one's attention on a sickness. That's why sick people are given a lot of rest. You can recover, and get well from most of the diseases by just sleeping; by taking deep rest. Medicines are just props. This body can generate all the chemicals it needs.
