Grab every opportunity to be grateful in life. Then you will see that you will stop grumbling, and all your miseries and sorrow will disappear from life.

        🌺 ASHTAVAKRA GITA🌺

                🌿Chapter - 30🌿
~ Your Nature Is Gratefulness ~

                  🌱 Day - 178 🌱

The electricity inside the bulb knows that it is all over the wire; that it is the electricity. The current that is transformed into light, knows itself as the electricity present in the wire. It is immediately in touch with entire circuit, wherever the wire is present. It happens in no time. And it is your very nature and birthright. That's what Janaka says, ' Evameva mastitaha. I am abiding in my very nature.'

So think of all those things that you could be grateful for. We are born on this planet. We could have been born somewhere in Ethiopia or Bangladesh where you don't know when a river would flood, and wash you away; perhaps in the middle of the night. Of this infinite number of species, we have been born as human beings. This is the first thing to be grateful for. You could have been born as a fish, and somebody could catch you. What would you do? Flap your tail for a few minutes? Have you seen a fish flapping its tails? How long would you be able to survive? A couple of minutes on the sand, and then somebody would fry, add spices and eat you. What a life it would have been!

It would be the same if you were a lobster or a crab. Suppose you were in a tank in a restaurant, completely unaware of the fact as to what is your fate at what time of the day. Someone comes and says, 'This is nice'. Even if you look nice, you are in danger. Someone says, 'Good crab', and that is it, finished. You would have no freedom. You would not be able to vote. You would not be able to resist your fate. You would not be able to strike or bring about a revolution. Absolutely no freedom. What can crabs in a restaurant do? We have a human life with a lot of freedom, with the ability to know, understand, communicate, comprehend and be grateful for what is given to us.

A wise and intelligent man or woman looks at what their life is. They always feel that they should be more grateful for what has been bestowed on them.

Do you know what a blind man feels about sight? And we are not grateful for our eyes. Have you ever felt grateful for the sense of sight that God has given you? Have you ever felt grateful for your ears, and the sense of hearing? You only start when you get sick, and something happens to your ears. Have you felt grateful for your voice? You could have been born a mentally retarded child, and then what would have been your fate. Grab every opportunity to be grateful in life. Then you will see that you will stop grumbling, and all your miseries and sorrow will disappear from life. Isn't it? Don't you think so? Shall we do that - grab every opportunity to be grateful. But, we are doing the reverse. We grab opportunity to grumble. This is the only shift, the major shift, the biggest shift.
