Medicinal uses -
It extracts is used as an anodyne for eyewash & for relieving ear complaints.
Its ash is applied to the scalp for curing ringworm.
leaf extracts are used in eczema, leprosy, ulcers, piles & syphilis.
leaf extract boiled in coconut oil is applied to the skin in chronic dermatitis.
Pistia stratiotes are useful in the treatment of stomach disorder, throat & mouth inflammation.
