Thunbergia grandiflora (Hindi_Neel Lata, Bengali_Neellota, Nepali _Kagphulee, Bangladeshi _Kauathuti/Nallata, Popular _Blue Trumpet Vine/Bengal Trumpet/Bengal Clock Vine)Acanthaceae. It is an evergreen and perennial large climbing and twining plant growing to about 20 m. It has antioxidant, antibacterial anti inflammatory, antifungal, antipyretic, antidotal, antidiabetic, anthelmintic, hepatoprotective and anticancer activities. It is used in the treatment of blood dysentery contaract, conjunctivitis, diabetes, gout hydrocele, malaria, ophthalmia rheumatism, spermatorrhoea, stomach complaints elephantiasis, urinary bladder stones, eye diseases, paralysis, external bleeding, fractures, snake and scorpion bites. The plant is widely used as a traditional medicine especially in Thailand, Malaysia and India.
