Where are you?
Which planet are you on?
What is your world?
Are you sure you are not dreaming?
Are you sure you are here on this planet?
Are you sure earth is beneath you?
What is it you are hanging on to?
How long will we continue this play, this drama?
What is happening?
What is the origin of the mind?
Where do all these thoughts arise from?
Where does all this grumbling arise from?
Where do all your concepts rise? How do they rise? How do they fall off?
How do your likes and dislikes of people arise and fall off?
If we don't get these doubts, we will not ask ourselves these questions. Not that they don't arise; they do but we brush them aside. We don't ride on the horse of these questions. We don't ask very basic questions. Instead we keep asking silly questions in your mind. If there is a problem, you ask why the problem is there? You ask this question a thousand times. You ask why is has to be you; why you are so unhappy. You ask this in relation to somebody else. You wonder why so-and-so bad-mouthing you. There cannot be stupider question than that! Why? Even that person doesn't know the reason! And you want to know why that man is bad-mouthing you. Why so-and-so is so rude to me? Why so-and-so is so nasty? Our doubts are so silly! Our questions are so insignificant. They mostly concern trivial matters, like a dress, a tape recorder, etc. These are the types of questions we ask. We spend all our lifetime asking questions which do not mean anything; which do not take us anywhere. It's like sitting on a merry-go-round horse. You dupe your children into thinking they are really riding a horse and going somewhere. It goes nowhere! Children want to ride a horse, so you give them a rocking horse to keep them quiet.
In the same way, you shut off the real and natural questions in you with silly questions, thoughts and things. Just observe this when travelling with somebody who keeps asking questions every few minutes. People come to me and say they have a personal question. When I ask what the personal question is, everybody has similar questions related to their boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. It will be either relationship problem or a job problem. Nobody has a problem about what this universe is, where he has come from or what his life is.
