Dear souls

This is Vimal Kankani from Coimbatore and am a Faculty at the Art of Living (TN 0519).

This is a message of gratitude to the Divine for being with me and saving me from a fatal accident (near death experience). It is unbelievable but very true that Divine Intervention happens if you have faith and trust in the Guru tattva and the Guru himself, blessings of ancestors, parents and of people around us.

If one has a Guru in his life, depending on the Karma, if an arrow has to target you, the arrow will be shot but will hit the cap and you won’t even know it.

On the 7th of October (happens to be the first day of Navratri and also my Dad’s 92nd Birthday), we had done the kalash stapana of Devi at home and I had to leave to Pollachi from Coimbatore. (Coimbatore is where I stay and Pollachi is about 40 kms from here). I was driving and was alone, as usual. After completing my work in Pollachi, I set to return back by 6.40 pm. I played “Sounds of Devi” from the Art of Living app in which Bhanu Didi was reciting the Devi Namana Stotram and was repeating it. After 12 min the stotram got over and I continued driving.

It is a highway and the road was totally free and at 7 pm it was dark, driving at a speed of 90-100, I suddenly noticed a huge truck standing perpendicular covering the entire road (it had entered the road from some side private road and it was so big that it could not enter the highway without reversing). It wasn’t much of distance from me and I applied sudden brake and my car started going to the left and in no seconds banged into the lorry. I have no idea how the car started steering to the left side, without my control. I only knew that the brakes were not enough to stop the car and that I would bang into it. The only thing I realized is why is the car going Left. Next I heard was only a huge THUD sound. The front of my car went into the lorry (below the lorry) and hit the stepney tyre of the truck. Entire front portion of the car up to the head of the car was inside the lorry and was damaged, the windscreen also broke (but did not fall on me). Had the car hit any other portion of the truck, it would have rebound and the impact would have been drastic. But taking the gap and hitting the stepney and also the gap through which the car could go inside, in that fraction of moment was unbelievable. It was surely the Divine guiding the car so that somehow hit the safest way. ( First Divine Intervention where the Car hit the safest place)

After hearing the bang and knowing that its been gruesome, I looked around myself, removed the safety belt and could barely manage to open the door, just enough for me to get out. Walked around to see if am ok and to my surprise there was nothing wrong at all.. not a scratch or hit on any of the bone, absolutely nothing. (Second Divine Intervention).

I walked up to the lorry driver and asked him, why have you blocked the road like like… He was so scared and in a state of shock as he thought I might not have survived. He said there were twinkle lights on the side, probably you missed to see. I just smiled and said ya probably.

By then there were people who came in and enquired where the driver was.. They were also surprised to see me standing with “no sign of injury at all”. I got into the car and took our my mobile and informed my son and wife about the accident. Immediately I got an incoming call from of our Art of Living devotee and volunteer Manish Kankaria. Now at that time, I was in no mood to receive any call. But something made me answer. He only asked me where is your Honda City car. I told him its been crushed terribly. He said don’t worry, I am coming from Coimbatore and my staff are there, they will assist you, if anything. (Third Divine Intervention)

It all looks so planned. Manish and Poonam Shah are long time volunteers and devotees in AOL and their staffs, Manikandan and Bhagyaraj had gone to Pollachi on their official work. They had left much before me and for some reason stopped in between for tea. That tea stop made them follow me and they were just behind me when the accident took place. They reached up to me and said JAI GURUDEV, are you fine. I could not but stop wondering the big game. That’s when I recalled Gurudev’s words’ “You are not alone, my Dear !”

The police, Mr Hyder Ali who reached the stop was also very cooperative and kept repeating, “This is a life due to some good Karma of all connected to you and Grace from the Divine.” Couldn’t have agreed more.

My parameters were checked in a road side ambulance and they were surprised to find the BP and oxygen level totally normal, except the heart beat which was around 115-120. Just for precautionary measure, I was sent to hospital for a scan.

By then Manish Kankaria had come to the hospital with some idlis.. I said you are making me break my Navratri fast by giving me Idli.. He laughed and said when you broke the car, what’s this fast. I had the idlis as prasad..My family members too reached the hospital and were pleasantly surprised to see me in good health.

I reached back home that night with such a big experience, no injury, no trauma, no shock or stress.

This is a second life for me and I surely owe it to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, all my well-wishers and friends who have always thought good about me and for me, my parents, ancestors and family members. 

I have called up the driver of the Truck who was feeling very bad about the accident and told him not to bother, you have only been instrumental in giving me a new life.
