Kati Basti is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment for lower back pain

Kati Basti is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment for lower back pain, particularly useful when the pain is too sensitive for massage. The term "Kati" refers to the lower back region, and "Basti" means "container" or "retention".

During a Kati Basti treatment, a warm, medicated oil is poured into a dam created on the skin over the affected area, typically the lumbar region. The oil is retained for a period of time, allowing it to penetrate deep into the tissues, nourishing and soothing the muscles, nerves, and joints.

Kati Basti is beneficial for:

- Lower back pain and stiffness
- Sciatica and nerve irritation
- Herniated discs and spinal degeneration
- Muscle spasms and tension
- Improving flexibility and range of motion

This gentle and non-invasive treatment is often used in conjunction with other Ayurvedic therapies, such as massage, yoga, and herbal remedies, to provide comprehensive relief from lower back pain.
