Enlightenment means that one is happiness and one is happy. Unenlightenment means that one is happiness, and is not aware of the one who is happy. You are the source of joy. You are beauty. You are joy. Beauty is not outside, in the rocks, in the sunset, in the trees, or in the moon. Beauty is inside you.

Everyone is happiness, but not everyone is happy. That is the only difference, between the enlightened and the unenlightened. It is the same moon. Look at the moon on a day you are very miserable. It seems dull. But when you are happy, you describe the moon as being wonderful and beautiful.

There is a saying, 'When a hungry man sees the moon, he sees roti (bread) in it.' He compares the moon to a roti or a chapati. He can't give any other analogy. He doesn't say the moon is like his beloved's face. To him it's a roti! And all the shading on the moon appears to be jam or chutney (jam doesn't go with roti, chutney goes with roti). เคจिःเคธंเค•เคฒ्เคชः เคธुเค–ी เคญเคต । All the time, people have told you to meditate again and again because somewhere in meditation (at least once in a while), your mind goes blank and you experience a few moments of satisfaction. And that is enough to carry you on for quite some time. Who knows when you will experience it again - today, tomorrow, or in ten days time? So, do it every day. Sit for some time every day. Maybe, you don't experience it every day,but you have made it a habit to sit. At least it may so happen that you experience it one day. And there's no harm when you're sitting quietly. Even if you don't transcend, it doesn't matter. You sit because there is nothing greater or worthwhile to do anyway! The world is not going to stop if you sit for twenty minutes with eyes closed. The elders have said that it does not matter even if thoughts come. They are part of meditation. And one day you see some thoughts come and go. Suddenly it starts happening quite often. And if you practice for quite a long time, you may experience it every day, and that makes you happy. It sustains the happiness in life. เคธुเค–ी เคญเคต । Be happy.
