A DESIRE KILLS JOY

AND ALL DESIRES AIM FOR JOY

This couplet needs to be pondered over and over; for a whole lifetime is not sufficient enough to digest this knowledge.

Whenever happiness has disappeared from your life, look deeper and you will see it is because of the desire. And all that we desire is happiness!

No person, animal or creature desiring unhappiness is ever born, never has it happened before and never will it happen in the future.

When your small mind gets tired of running here and there, of wandering everywhere, it reaches a conclusion, "My desires have killed my happiness".

Thus a person who has conquered his desires in called "mahavira".

इच्छा आन्नद को नष्ट करती है और सभी इच्छाओं का लक्ष्य है आनंद

इन पंक्तियों पर बार बार चिंतन करना है- इस ज्ञान को आत्मसात करने के लिए पूरा जीवन भी पर्याप्त नही: इच्छा आनंद को नष्ट करती है और सभी इच्छाओं का लक्ष्य है आनंद प्राप्ति।

जब भी खुशी तुम्हारे जीवन से लुप्त हुई है, गहराई में झांको- तुम देखोगे यह केवल इच्छा के कारणवश है। और खुश रहना ही हमारी एकमात्र चाह है।

कोई भी व्यक्ति, या जानवर या प्राणी पैदा नही हुआ जो दुख चाहता है- ऐसा न कभी हुआ, न होगा।

जब तुम्हारा छोटा मन इधर उधर भटकते थक जाता है तब इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुँचता है कि मेरी इच्छाओ ने मेरी खुशी को खत्म कर दिया है।

जिस व्यक्ति ने इच्छाओ पर विजय पा ली है, वह “महावीर” कहलाता है।
