Paila (also spelled Paippalada) was a sage and scholar in ancient India

Paila (also spelled Paippalada) was a sage and scholar in ancient India, known for his contribution to the Vedic tradition. He was a disciple of the ancient sage Rishi Yajnavalkya, and is believed to have played an important role in the preservation and transmission of the Vedas.

Paila is particularly associated with the Atharva Veda, one of the four Vedas, which is a collection of hymns and prayers addressed to various deities. He is said to have studied the Atharva Veda under the guidance of Yajnavalkya, and is believed to have passed on his knowledge to his own disciples.

Paila's contribution to the Vedic tradition is significant, as he is believed to have helped preserve and transmit the ancient wisdom and knowledge contained in the Vedas. His teachings and scholarship have had a lasting impact on Indian culture and spirituality, and the Vedas remain a foundational text in Hinduism and other spiritual traditions to this day
