भगवद्गीता– अध्याय ९, श्लोक १९

तपाम्यहमहं वर्षं निगृह्णम्युत्सृजामि च |

अमृतं चैव मृत्युश्च सदसच्चाहमर्जुन ||

अनुवाद: हे अर्जुन! मैं ही सूर्य रूप में तपता हूँ और मैं वर्षा का निग्रह तथा उत्सर्जन भी करता हूँ। मैं अमरता और मृत्यु एवं सत् और असत् भी हूँ।
